MapLy
An iOS app to pin places on a real map, group them into collections, and let an AI trip planner order the day. Sunset, no longer in development.
Context

What it does
MapLy is an iOS app for keeping the places you mean to go. Search a place, pin it on a real map, group pins into collections — then let the AI Trip Planner order the stops into a sensible route with times. It can also pull places out of TikTok links, and the whole app speaks English and Vietnamese.

Who it is for
People who save “must-go” places in notes, chats and screenshots — and never turn them into an actual plan for the day.

How it is built
A Flutter app, iOS-first, on Google Maps Platform. A thin Bun + Hono backend proxies Google Places and runs the trip planner (Distance Matrix + Directions + an LLM). Supabase provides Postgres with PostGIS, auth and row-level security. RevenueCat gates the AI planner as the Pro feature.
Where it stands
As of September 2026: Sunset — development stopped before an App Store release. The launch scope was single-user: search, pin, collections, AI-planned trips. Social features — friends, shared pins, proximity alerts — were deliberately cut from v1.
