Context

What it does
Shareglow generates Open Graph images from templates, scans any URL for broken or missing preview tags, and serves short links that carry their own preview image. Every problem the scanner finds comes with the code to fix it for the site’s framework: Next.js, Nuxt, Astro, WordPress or Shopify.
The direct competitor is OpenGraph.xyz. Shareglow charges the same price and gives three to five times the limits on every paid plan.
Why it is different
- A real Free plan. No card: 100 OG images and 10 short links a month, with unlimited scans and previews.
- Monitor and fix. It watches a site’s pages and alerts when a preview breaks. One button pushes the fix everywhere: it asks Facebook to re-scrape, versions the image URL, and shrinks the image under 300 KB for WhatsApp.
- Previews where people actually share. It simulates 30+ platforms worldwide, including WhatsApp, Telegram, WeChat, LINE, Zalo and KakaoTalk. A small snippet serves real meta tags to crawlers on single-page apps.
A REST API and an MCP server are part of the product, not the pitch.
Who it is for
Indie developers and founders, content marketers, agencies, and sites with many pages — listings, e-commerce stores and blogs.
Pricing
Free $0 · Starter $29 · Growth $59 · Scale $199 per month, billed through Polar. Paying yearly saves 17%.
How it is built
A pnpm and Turborepo monorepo. The web app is Next.js 16 on Cloudflare Workers through
@opennextjs/cloudflare. Images render with Takumi in WebAssembly, never a headless Chrome, and
are cached in R2 behind signed URLs. Redirects run on KV, jobs on Queues, click analytics on
Analytics Engine. Data lives in Neon Postgres through Drizzle, sign-in uses Better Auth, and pages
that need a real browser go to a Playwright worker on an Oracle A1 server.
Where it stands
As of 11 October 2026: Live at app.getshareglow.com since 9 October, with Polar billing live since 10 October. The public launch is Thursday, 15 October 2026. The source is private.
It ships as a web app, a WordPress plugin, a Chrome extension, a REST API and an MCP server. Built: the scanner, previews for 30+ platforms, the image engine and render worker, the editor, Polar billing, short links with analytics and custom domains, A/B tests that pick the winner, AI templates and brand kits, site monitoring, and the refresh-everywhere and single-page-app fixes. 51 of 58 launch tasks are done; what is left is accounts and launch-day work.
