StreakFire
A habit-streak mobile app, built from April to June 2026 and never shipped. Kept here because stopping is part of the record.
Context

What it was
A habit-streak app: check in daily, keep a visual streak alive, survive a missed day without losing everything. Built in Flutter.

What actually happened
The repository was created on 2026-04-09 and last pushed on 2026-06-04. It never shipped, and it was not picked back up.
Research into what a solo developer with no audience should build scored iOS subscription habit and utility apps at 4.6 and rejected the category. RevenueCat’s own numbers put 17.3% of new apps reaching $1,000 MRR within two years.
The same research counted how crowded subscription apps had become: new ones went from about 2,000 a month in 2022 to 14,700 a month by January 2026, by RevenueCat’s data. Its conclusion was that building fast is not a moat; fast building is what caused the flood.
What it was worth
A working app that nobody was going to find. The eight products I locked in September 2026 were held to the criterion that category failed: distribution, which carries 30% of the weight in the scoring they had to survive.
