Context

What it does
Explain the gap, predict the date. Settled tells a Shopify Payments merchant when the next payout arrives, flags anything held or held back as reserve, explains in plain English why a payout does not equal the sales number, and reconciles payout to order to fee.
- Payout calendar and ETA: the expected date of every upcoming payout.
- Hold and reserve flags: what is held back, and the day it is due to come back.
- Multi-source reconciliation: the Shopify API plus Shopify, PayPal and Stripe CSV exports, matched in one place.
- Accounting export: CSV, XLSX or PDF, for whoever keeps the books.
- AI explanations, with approval: bring your own AI key; a person approves each explanation before it is used.
- Alerts: Discord and email.

Who it is for
Shopify merchants on Shopify Payments who cannot tell, from the admin alone, why the money that landed differs from the money the dashboard reported.
Where it came from
It was the first of the eight to have real code behind it, from June 2026, and the rest of the portfolio grew up around it.
An honest note on competition
Shopify shipped native payout-to-bank matching while this was being built. That takes away part of the original wedge, and I marked it down for that rather than pretending otherwise. What is left is the explanation layer and the reconciliation export, which is still the part merchants ask about.
Pricing
Starter $19, Growth $39 and Scale $79 per month, billed through Shopify’s managed pricing. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial, and no card is needed to start it.
One of ten
Settled is one of ten small products I am building in public. Eight of them share a common core and one visual language, so an improvement made for one reaches the others.
Every number follows the same rules across the money products: an unknown value shows as —, never 0, and dates spell out the month, because 01/02/2026 is two different days to a US merchant and a UK one.
Where it stands
As of 11 October 2026: Built and running in production at app.settledpayouts.com. The first Shopify App Store review came back with three notes about the billing screen, all from one bug that showed an error page when the reviewer switched plans. It was fixed the same day, and the second review round was still in review when I last checked on 9 October. That listing is the last launch step, so the app is not on the App Store yet. 50 of 57 build tasks are done.
The app itself opens inside Shopify admin, so there is no public demo. The landing page is settledpayouts.com, and the privacy policy is at settledpayouts.com/privacy.
It runs on React Router 7 with Polaris web components, Prisma on a self-hosted Postgres, self-hosted Inngest for background jobs and Resend for email, all in Docker on a Contabo VPS. It has 1,309 unit tests.

First App Store review: one bug, fixed and resubmitted
Shopify's reviewer hit an error page while switching plans. One cause behind all three notes; fixed the same day, checked on the live app, and sent back for review.
